One tank was said to have been hit up to 80 times. The Churchills were fired on many times by German anti-tank guns, but only one received more than light damage. This detachment, called "Kingforce", supported the attack of 7th Motor Brigade. "Six Mk III Churchills (with the 6 pounder) saw action in the Second Battle of El Alamein in October 1942. Historicly churchills were a joke because they were so ♥♥♥♥, how can one not only take fire from the strongest anti tank gun the germans have and live, but also dish out enough firepower to allmost kill it Originally posted by Ccrack:a churchill mark VII infantry tank allmost soloed my jadgpanther Otherwise, they are all great tanks as they are. Its performance is perfect for its role, not OP not underpowered.Īnd of course its not even close to tigers and thats why its cheaper.Īs far for the croco and AVRE, they are more offensive variants, and its ok to nerf their durability a bit at the upcoming patch as well as their flame and mortar damage which was far too much. To spearhead the assault, and as an infantry support tank, it can cover advancing infantry. Its abilities are also for that exactly reason. Churchill is an initiator tank, so it has to be very durable. But take that as just my observations, I may have missed something and have only been able to pull off around ten games since the FLC was released, so I may need further testing. The tank in question fills that role nicely, you can park it in the middle of the storm and use it to help evac troops that are getting a mudhole stomped in them. Under Anvil doctrine the goal is to outlast and hold the line, as it were. From the games that I played so far the Churchill is a barely mobile brick of armor, which I believe serves the purpose for which you get it. It can take one hell of a pounding, but it's main gun in my experience is somewhat underwhelming compared to other heavy high end tanks. Originally posted by BigWiggle_Grimes:Honestly I disagree.
